Work on show in East Hanningfield

On October 5th and 6th I had some of my art work on show in East Hanningfield for their annual art exhibition. It was lovely to be accepted as I believe there are many regulars to this show and this was my first time applying. The quality of work was impressive and it was great to look around and see what other local Essex artists are producing. My parents had also been visiting this weekend and so were able to look around too, with my husband and child.

Now with a young child in tow to something like this can be tricky – luckily there was refreshments to enjoy but I also had to employ a strategy of ‘spot mummy’s work’ whilst we waited for my husband to park up. Which did stop the complete darting around from section to section. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were able to find my work amidst all the others – turns out they really to pick up on more than you realise!

I had 2 A4 drawings, 2 A3 drawings and 4 paintings of varying sizes on show:

And whilst nothing sold at this exhibition it was a great show and I had a wonderful little helper who came back with me on closing day to help get the artwork. I think regardless of what happens it is important for me to push myself out of my comfort zone, get out there a bit and take these opportunities when I can.
