After feeling like I desperately needed to have a cutting machine, I have come to rather enjoy making stickers by hand in my home studio. As much as art is a creation process I quite enjoy printing out the designs on to sticker vinyl, laminating and then hand cutting each sticker to see it ‘come to life’. Of course in time investing in a machine will be part of the plan but for now it’s kind of therapeutic and relaxing.
I’ve also surprised myself with suddenly finding stickers super fun and feeling the need to add them to everything around me!
To make these feel a little different I’ve been experimenting with using various holographic laminating sheets which add a beautiful effect as well as make the stickers more durable. I still need to master the art of applying it perfectly every time!
Whilst I am aware that making stickers in this way isn’t the most eco-friendly my hope is that using vinyl and lamination means that they will last considerably longer than paper stickers would.
